GO Angling and Fishing4U Boat Angling league
 
Fished on a Friday evening 5:30pm until 11:30pm      Aboard My Way & Spindrift,  from Holyhead Marina
 
Entry to the league will be £5 per person, payable on your first sail.
Entry to each leg will be £25 per person

League Rules

 

  1. An entry fee to the league of £5 is payable by all participating anglers
  1. Each leg costs £25 to enter.
  1. All boats will carry 8 or 9 angler.
  1. Tackle

a)       An angler may use only one rod.

b)       One spare rod may be assembled with a reel attached. Line may be threaded, but there must be no end tackle attached.

c)       A maximum of 4 rods per angler are allowed on the boat.

d)       Rigs are allowed to carry a maximum of three hooks.

e)       No more than two rigs can be baited at any one time.

f)        Treble hooks are not allowed. Pennel rigs count as two hooks.

g)       Fish must be removed from a rig before the next rig is dropped into the sea.

 

  1. There are no bait bans, bait additives are acceptable.
  1. Casting is acceptable.  Anglers to cast must use a shock leader, and all casts should be made with the terminal tackle outside the boat.
  1. Foul hooked fish are acceptable. If one angler has two hooks in a fish this is acceptable. If two anglers have hooks in the same fish this is not counted.
  1. There are no size limits Each fish that is fairly caught will score point as per the list
  1. It is the angler’s responsibility to ensure that the steward/skipper has recorded his/her fish.
  1. In the interests of safety if a conger eel,  tope, spur or huss is fairly hooked, and an angler can touch the trace, then a gesture by the skipper or steward will suffice. The fish to be released at the side of the boat.
  1. The event will be scored in percentage (%).

a)       The angler with the most points on each boat will be awarded 100%.

b)       Each angler will then have his/her score calculated as a % of their respective boat winner’s score.

For Example   Boat winner  145 fish points      = 100%

                                2nd place                 127 fish points      = 87.59%

                                        3rd place 119 fish points      = 82.07%

c)       To win a boat you must score higher than every person on your boat. If two or more individuals share the top score on a boat after the fishing, they will each receive 99.99% and not 100%

d)       Your best 4 results will make the league table. The maximum score achievable is 400%.

 

e)       At the end of the league if 2 anglers tie in first position, then the 1st position will be awarded to the angler with the most fish points. If after this there remains a tie then the 1st position will be awarded to the angler with the most fish. If there remains a tie the tying anglers will share 1st & 2nd positions and the prizes relating to these positions.

f)        At the end of the league if 3 anglers tie in first position, then the 1st position will be awarded to the angler with the most fish points. If after this there remains a tie then the 1st position will be awarded to the angler with the most fish. If there remains a tie the tying anglers will share 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions and the prizes relating to these positions.

 

  1. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry without explanation and shall in such a case return the entry fees. 
  1. The Organisers shall not be held responsible for any loss, accident or damage occasioned to any competitor, official or member of the public.
  1. Any angler found leaving litter or throwing litter into the sea during or after the competition will be disqualified.
  1. Any angler found breaking the rules WILL be disqualified.
