Holyhead - February

February can be a difficult month to judge in north Wales. With settled weather the fishing can be extremely good with numbers of fish being caught from an array of different species.

Strong winds for any prolonged period will leave a dirty sea, with the cold weather associated with February this can hamper quantity being caught.

Many fish can be found on the mud banks and broken ground that surround Holyhead bay and nearby areas.

Species that are regular through February include dogfish, whiting, dabs, codling and coalies along with various mini specie.

Inshore double figure thrills come in the form of bull huss and rays, normally thornback with the odd blonde ray.

Off shore will see similar catches however with the possibility of spurdogs coming to the boat.

Throughout February full boat hire up to 8hrs is £200 with an individual price of only £25 per person
