The Welsh government has launched a consultation seeking the views of Recreational Sea Angling organisations, and Recreational Sea Anglers who enjoy fishing the coasts of Wales.

The consultation covers many aspects of the growing Welsh Sea Angling sector and seeks advice as to how to unlock the considerable growth potential of the sector, whilst protecting and enhancing the marine environment of Wales.

The consultation document is being distributed by Welsh Assembly Government to a number of angling organisations and is available to other angling interests by emailing FisheriesMailbox@Wales.GSI.Gov.UK  or by application to Miss Hannah Pinches 02920 825245.

Comments on the consultation should be sent by 25 April 2006 to

Miss Hannah Pinches, Welsh Assembly Government, ECM Fisheries Branch, CP2, Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NQ or by email to

FisheriesMailbox@Wales.GSI.Gov.UK

Once responses have been consolidated, the resulting document will be submitted for consideration as part of the developing Welsh Fisheries Strategy (WFS).
